Fly Free Guide Co. is built for anglers who want a relaxed, personal day on the Guadalupe River. Whether you are learning the basics or already know your way around a fly rod, the goal is simple: put you on productive water, help when you want it, and make the day feel like fishing—not a sales pitch.
Our first-season trips are intentionally small, one boat at a time, with attention focused entirely on one or two anglers.

Fly Free Guide Co. is currently focused on guided trips on the Guadalupe River. Trip style, target species and exact water may change throughout the season based on river conditions, flows, weather and seasonal fishing.
Additional Central Texas waters may be added as Fly Free expands its guided offerings.
FAQ
Before we hit the water
Are trips automatically confirmed when I request a date?
No. All trip requests are subject to availability. A requested date is not reserved until Fly Free Guide Co. accepts the trip and the required initial payment is received.
What deposit is required?
For an approved trip booked 45 or more days in advance, a 10% minimum payment is required and a payment plan may be available. Approved trips booked 3–44 days in advance require a 50% minimum payment. Approved trips requested within 48 hours require an 80% minimum payment upon acceptance. Remaining balances must be paid in full before the trip.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, for select approved trips booked 45 or more days in advance. A 10% minimum payment reserves the accepted date, and the remaining balance may be divided into scheduled payments. Contact Fly Free Guide Co. to discuss available payment options.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancellations made with at least 72 hours’ notice may be eligible for a refund, trip credit or rescheduling at the discretion of Fly Free Guide Co. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice may result in forfeiture of payments already made. Emergency circumstances are reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis. No additional cancellation balance will be charged beyond amounts already paid.
What happens if Fly Free cancels because of river or weather conditions?
If Fly Free Guide Co. cancels or postpones a trip because of unsafe river conditions, severe weather, guide emergency or another safety concern, the customer will be offered a reschedule, trip credit or refund.
Is Fly Free Guide Co. licensed and insured?
Yes. Fly Free Guide Co. operates as a licensed Texas fishing guide service and carries guide liability insurance. All participants are required to complete the Fly Free Guide Co. liability waiver before participating.
Do I need a fishing license?
Anglers are responsible for having any Texas fishing license and freshwater endorsement required by law before the trip. Requirements and exemptions can change, so please review the current Texas Parks & Wildlife fishing license requirements before your trip.
Do you guarantee fish?
No. Fishing is inherently unpredictable. Trip fees cover professional guide services, instruction, equipment, river logistics and the guided experience—not a guaranteed number, size or species of fish.
What is a Buddy / BYOG trip?
It is a lower-service trip for anglers who already know how to fly fish and bring their own rods, reels, flies and fishing gear. Fly Free provides the boat, rowing, river logistics and local knowledge.
What is Fly Free RECON?
RECON is a private customer area for selected trip preparation and river information. Access is provided to approved paying customers.
Can beginners book?
Yes. Standard guided trips are the right choice for beginners and anglers who want instruction and gear support.
How many people can fish?
Current pricing is designed for one or two anglers per trip.
